Welcome to the World, my new website!

At last, after months of planning, my vision for the Honeypot Cakes Webiste has become a reality. For so long you have set ideas in your mind about how you want things to look, you begin to wonder if they'll ever actually look that way, well I'm pleased to say they do.

I'm so excited about the future of Honeypot Cakes, especially with this new brilliant angle to it. I have high hopes for the gift wrapped Chocolate Brownies, they really make a lovely gift and can be so personal too, choose the flavours that best suit your friend and also add a special handwriitten message if you wish. They come gift wrapped in tissue paper and satin ribbon and look lovely, they taste even better. What nicer way to say Thank You, Happy Mothers Day or Happy Valentines Day!! Maybe have them delivered to a work place for added impact!

Well, its time for me to get busy spreading the word.....Watch this space!!

A Step Closer!!

Today I came a step closer to going viral!! After many hours perfecting the logo, we have found perfection. Its that moment when your dreams become a little more real and your vision becomes a reality. I love my new logo for the website, its just how I imagined it to be. Roll on the next step!

I've just got back from a fab day out at the Good Food Show 2011 in Birmingham. Not only was it a great day out for a food obsessed person like me but also a really great way of seeing who else is out there doing what I do and also the kind of feedback people are getting. Many miles were walked and countless calories consumed, can't wait til next year.

Who knows, maybe Honeypot Cakes will have its own stall!

Everybody wants cake!

It seems Honeypot Cakes is in high demand right now, not only in Leicester but slightly further afield in Uppingham too. After a word of mouth recommendation from one of my lovely customers, I found myself stepping in to help out a new customer, Don Paddys based in the centre of Uppingham, Rutland.  I need to take a social trip out to see this marvel of a cafe/restaurant as one things for sure, they get through alot of cakes (and scones)...! I don't know how long I'll be baking for them but either way its nice while it lasts.

On top of this and the usual baking, which also seems to be getting eaten at a rate of knots, I've been cracking on with the new website. So exciting, its really coming along now. The Brownie recipes are all sorted, I ve found some lovely tissue paper and ribbon and shall hopefully be taking delivery of my first shipment of boxes to send them out in, any day soon.

I'm having lots of fun gathering some of the lovely comments Ive had over the years for a section on the website devoted to testimonials, its so lovely reading back over the nice things people have said  about my cakes.

I was also asked today what cakes and goodies I'll be baking for Christmas this year so with much festive spirit the first mince pies of the year have just come out of the oven, they smell divine!

Happy baking one and all!

Busy half term.

Well, its clearly half term with children and parents out eating cake in their numbers, orders have rocketed this week, I'm expecting the same next week as the rest of the county have their school holidays too.

It was a busy day in the Honeypot Cakes kitchen yesterday, cupcakes taking on a slightly Halloween theme and various chocolate traybakes going down a storm, the most popular this week being my Malteser Slice and Millionaires Slice, I think the new pattern on top is looking great too. I'll post some pictures of these.

With all the cakes loaded into the car and ready to be delivered its action stations! Today, I'm sourcing some more items in preperation for the new website, first on the list are some new Brownie tins to fit my oven perfectly, hopefully with flat sides for a better finish and some gorgeous tissue paper to wrap the finished Brownies in. I really must sit down and finish my homework too or my web designer will put me on report when we meet in a week or so.Good job its nearly the weekend!

Have a fab cake eating weekend!

Here goes...

At last, I have managed to get my very first blog up and running, I knew there was a reason I chose to bake cakes for a day job as it seems anything technological is maybe not my forte. Stick to what your good at, for me thats baking.

I live with my two fabulous sons and spend most of my time running around after them, the rest of the time I'm to be found in the kitchen doing what I love. For six years now I've run a very successful business from home, Honeypot Cakes, I bake and supply cakes, traybakes and cupcakes to various cafe's, deli's and tea rooms in and around Leicestershire. My cakes are all truly homemade, I never add anything artificial to plump them up or prolong their shelf life, they simply don't need it!

So often I get fabulous feedback and comments from customers about my Chocolate Brownies inparticular that I've now decided to spread the brownie love and start supplying them on my very own website, which I am so proud of.

This blog is going to follow my progress into the exciting world of the internet.

Have fun sharing my journey with me.
